He has taken a position with the State of Maryland as "Director of Procurement' for the Department of General Services. 

     The Department of General Services procurement office provides professional and technical support services to State and local government agencies; conducts central procurement of architectural and engineering services, commodities, construction, facilities maintenance, and printing services. The professional procurement staff performs specialized contracting, bid/proposal administration, and bid security for all State government users except the University System of Maryland. The Technology unit administers Internet-based eMaryland Marketplace, a full-service interactive procurement system.

      Michael is a graduate of the University of Maryland, an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Manager, an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, and he has completed ISO 9000 Lead Auditor Training. Michael is also an ISM - Institute of Supply Management (formerly NAPM – National Association of Purchasing Managers) Certified Purchasing Manager and a Total Quality Institute Certified Quality Facilitator . 

      Michael is an Instructor at Anne Arundel Community College where he teaches various business classes. During the past few years he has also been an Adjunct Instructor at Catonsville Community College where he taught Quality Manager preparation classes.

      Michael has over 25 years experience working with both large and small business to develop programs and systems that operate efficiently and effectively. He has helped organizations excel by working with them to develop strategic business plans, by developing and implementing Supply Chain Management and Quality Programs, and by aligning organizations people and process to the vision and mission.
